What Our Worship is Like

Our worship follows an ancient pattern which includes contemporary and traditional music, times of corporate and private prayer, hearing and responding to the Word of God, a Bible-based sermon, confession of sin, sharing God's peace with one another, and Holy Communion.  All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion with us.

The entire worship experience is designed to allow us, individually and as a community, to encounter the Living God. In that encounter, we seek to bless the Lord and minister to Him. People from a great variety of traditions and experiences find this form of worship both powerful and transformative. Our hope is that you will join us and see what we mean.

Sunday Worship: Where and When

We have two worship services every Sunday morning. One begins at 9 a.m., the other at 10:45 a.m. We worship at 920 Caldwell Lane in Nashville, TN, 37204.  You are welcome to join us in worship at any of our services.

There is special parking for guests in the front of our property. When you arrive, look to your left and you should see open spaces marked for visitors. Handicapped spaces are available in this same area. If you do not see an open visitor's space, simply go straight and you will end up in our large lot in the back. We park on both asphalt and grass. If you visit us on a weekday, feel free to park in any spot in front of the church.

Entering the Church

On Sunday mornings, look for the double doors.  If you are coming any other time, look for the red, wooden door in the "house."  There are double doors on both sides of the building, and both sets lead to our lobby (what we call the “narthex.”)  Once in the narthex, you will be greeted and given a bulletin which will guide you through the service.  There will be friendly folks available to point out our nursery, childcare, Sunday school rooms, bathrooms, coffee and the information table.

Bringing Children to Worship

Anyone, of any age, is welcome in our worship service. If you would like, you may take your young children to the childcare rooms before joining us in the worship service.  We have well-staffed childcare areas for children from infancy through pre-school. You may also keep your children with you in worship, if you prefer.

In the Summer, while public school is out. we don’t offer Sunday School. Instead, we ask that you bring your child (age 5 or older) to worship with you. During the rest of the year, the following applies:

Older children may also join us in worship, or participate in our excellent children's ministry. We have programs designed to minister to kids in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Before coming into the sanctuary, you can escort your children to Sunday School, at either the 9:00 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. service.. Your children will join you in time for communion. Our greeters will gladly point you to the appropriate classrooms. Of course, you are also welcome to keep your child in the service.

There is also Sunday School available for middle school youth and adults during the 10:45 a.m. service.
