Church of the Redeemer

Love Nashville is a three part campaign of Church of the Redeemer. This entire campaign revolves around a single question: how should Redeemer love Nashville in the name of Jesus in 2011?

The three parts of Love Nashville are simple: pray, plan, and act.  Beginning today, I am calling upon Redeemer to enter into a 4 week season of prayer in which we are asking the Lord to guide us. We are asking him a two part question "how are you calling me to love my neighbors; how are you calling us to love our city?"  I would ask each of us to pray this simple prayer every day. 

After this time of prayer has concluded, I will invite every member and friend of Redeemer who feels called to join in a conversation of prayer and planning. We will meet on Wednesday evening, March 2nd for our first gathering.

Ultimately, I believe we will be able to act together in some meaningful way by the weekend of April 30/May 1, the one year anniversary of the terrible Nashville Flood.  I expect that we will act in several different ways.  Some will involve what we are already doing through Family Affair and other ministries.  Some of what we do will be new.  My hope is that all of it will come out of Christ's great love for the people of our area.
