We have a New Bishop

By Fr. Thomas McKenzie |  June 30, 2011

Thomas (T.J.) Johnston has been our bishop for seven years.  Recently we were informed that Bishop Johnston would no longer be overseeing the Mid-South Network (the cluster of Anglican Mission churches of which we are a part).  This was his decision due to the increased demands of his local ministries as a pastor and church planter in South Carolina.

All the churches in the Mid-South Network are now coming under Bishop Todd Hunter’s Network, “Churches for the Sake of Others,” based in California.  This may or may not be a temporary home for us.  In the AMiA, congregations have the right to choose which bishop and network to align with.  Our Elders will be considering this issue over the next few months.  We may choose to stay with this new Network or find another one.  At least for the time being, our new Bishop is Todd Hunter.  Please pray for him, and this time of transition.

You can learn more about Todd Hunter by visiting his website at www.ToddHunter.org.  He has written a book about becoming Anglican, called The Accidental Anglican, which you may consider reading as well.
